Follow-up zoom meeting from Sunday’s service
A discussion regarding A Methodist Way of Life will take place on Thursday at 7:00pm. details of the link will be sent out by email later.
YCCN have organised a relay walk from St Ives in Cornwall to Glasgow to arrive in time for the COP26 Climate Change Conference.
On Thursday, the leg is from Shrewton to Salisbury via Middle Woodford.
On arrival in Salisbury the walkers will be given refreshments in the south garden before attending evensong. We would welcome a SMc presence at the service. I am planning on walking this leg.
On Friday, the walk is from Salisbury to Broughton via a lunch stop in Pitton. The walk will start from the SMc garden after a 9.00am breakfast and prayers/blessing led by Bishop Karen.
Bryan Coates will be walking at least the morning section. Anyone who can attend to see the walkers off will be very welcome.
As you can see by the walkers the name of the group does not set an age bar on participants!!!
(Information about the walk from Anna and Jim)
Worship at SMc during August
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement regarding the easing of Covid19 restrictions the strategy group has met and proposes the following way forward for SMc.
All Sunday morning services may be attended in person and will be streamed to those watching at home.
When you enter the building for worship you will still be required to wear a mask until you leave. We are delighted that singing will be permitted but from behind your mask. Please stand to sing the hymns if you so wish.
The seating will be altered to increase the capacity of the sanctuary so you will not be required to book a seat, BUT Test and Trace remains. We are therefore advising you to use the online booking form on the church website so that we have your details. If you cannot access this, please phone Liz Chick on 01980 610594. Bookings should be made by 6.00pm on the Friday proceeding the service.
If you choose not to prebook please use the Covid app on your phone to check in or give your details to the steward in the welcome area.
Once you have entered the sanctuary, please choose your own seat. We advise that each family group or social bubble sit at the end of a row to give the maximum distance between each grouping. If you are clinically vulnerable, please choose a seat at the far end of the church.
At the end of the service please exit by the welcome area or move into the garden at a time of your choosing.
We still ask you to sanitize your hands when entering the building.
Please do not attend in person if you are feeling unwell.
Please understand that even outside there is still some risk in getting too close together, so we ask that people are aware of the risks when talking to each other. When you leave the garden, please use the side gate onto the road.
Jim Gillings On behalf of the Restart group.
