Coronavirus

Coronavirus cases have been rising, with Wiltshire having one of the highest rates in England.

So,  following advice from Bryan Coates the Acting Circuit Superintendent, the Restart Group is respectfully requesting that ALL users of the church buildings wear masks and use hand sanitiser.

 

If you are attending worship in person, please:
  • wear a mask
  • use hand sanitiser
  • as far as possible, respect social distancing
  • do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

Bible Book Club

Sunday October 24th at 4:00pm

We look at Luke’s Gospel, in preparation for the coming lectionary year which focusses on this book. All are welcome.

All Souls Service

The All Souls service, where we remember loved ones who have died, is on Sunday 31 October at 6pm and will be  led by Revd. Anna Bishop.

If you would like someone’s name to be read out, please contact Monica Gillings

As there are many people who have been affected during the last 18 months, this service will be livestreamed.

Prayers for our sister church, St John’s, Mtendere, Zambia

The 57th anniversary of Zambia’s Independence Day – 24th October, 1964.

Give thanks for peace, democracy and wider access to education at all levels.

Pray for the new President and Government and for unity in the nation.

Salisbury Circuit service

Sunday 17th October at 6.00p.m. here, at Salisbury Methodist Church.

This will be a very special Circuit Service to recognise Mrs Kate Newton as a fully accredited Local Preacher.

The preacher for this service will be Mr Michael King, who helps and guides our Preachers ‘On Trial’ through the long process of study and testing that is involved in the training of Preachers.

Prayers for Justice and Peace

Salisbury  Cathedral – join us for prayers next Wednesday Oct 20 at 12 noon in the Trinity chapel when there will be a special focus on COP 26 and Climate Change.

You are warmly invited to a special Songs of Praise music recording at Salisbury Cathedral on Saturday 23rd October, 10:30am – 13:30pm

All are welcome and we are especially keen for enthusiastic singers to join us and lead the viewers at home in the singing.

Prayers for our sister church, St John’s, Mtendere, Zambia

Give thanks that the United Church radio station gutted by fire last month is now broadcasting again, so vital in reaching rural areas with the Gospel.

Give thanks also for the Lusaka Choirs festival last week, witnessing to Christ and inspiring worship.

At St John’s, please pray for the three uniformed choirs as they encourage prayer and worship in our church.

Toddler Group is now open

Toddlers meet in the hall at SMC on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to 11.30am. £2.00 per family per session.

Prayers for our sister church, St John’s, Mtendere, Zambia

Give thanks that COVID transmissions in Zambia are now so low that restrictions have been lifted by the Government.

The United Church radio station in Lusaka has been gutted by fire. Pray for the people working to get the station back on air spreading the Gospel.

At St John’s, pray for the ministry of the Community Development and Social Justice group, working with local people in need because of the COVID restrictions in the past year.
