This year’s Carol Service Choir rehearsals will be at 8pm on the Wednesday evenings 1, 8 & 15 December, followed by the service at 6pm on Sunday 19 December. All ages and stages welcome as we prepare special music for the occasion. Jonathan Robinson.

Prayers for our sister church, St John’s, Mtendere, Zambia

Pray for Rev Andrew Chulu, the new Mission and Evangelism Secretary, for the United Church of Zambia, and pray for renewed mission and evangelism now that the COVID cases are reduced.

At St John’s, please pray for our Girls’ Brigade, for the officers and the girls, that they will be faithful to their motto – “Seek; Serve; Follow” – and come to know the Lord.

Jenny Franklin’s  Funeral service will take place at SMc on Thursday, 2nd December at 12.30 p.m.If you wish to have a link to the livestream, then please contact the church office.

Tech Team

The Tech team needs reinforcements. There are only six of us and three people are needed each Sunday. We provide sound and visuals in the sanctuary and also the livestream to YouTube.

The Carol Service is back! This year’s Carol Service Choir rehearsals will be at 8pm on the Wednesday evenings 24 November, 1, 8 & 15 December, followed by the service at 6pm on Sunday 19 December. All ages and stages welcome as we prepare special music for the occasion. Jonathan Robinson.

Prayers for our sister church, St John’s, Mtendere, Zambia

Pray for Rev Dr Jonathan Kangwa on his appointment as Vice Chancellor of the UCZ University (Jonathan visited here through our link programme three years ago).

At St John’s, pray for the young people especially the youth attending the Lusaka Prayer and Fasting Fellowship this weekend and the school pupils preparing to do school leaving exams next month.

An enthusiastic group of singers is needed to help lead the singing – including a new hymn tune – at the Church Anniversary service on Sunday 21 November. All are invited to attend one rehearsal at 8pm on the evening of Wednesday 17 November.

Jenny Franklin died peacefully at Laverstock Care Centre on Monday 1st November. Her Funeral service will take place at SMc on Thursday, 2nd December at 12.30 p.m.

Notices for Sunday7th November

Big Sing, Saturday 6th November, 2:00pm, Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh.

Join with the Iona Community,  singing songs of climate justice and solidarity relayed from the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh on 6th November at 14:00 GMT in the sanctuary at Salisbury Methodist Church. We will sing to raise awareness of the situation and call for change. We will sing to stand together with each other in hope. “Hope is an active word!”

The rainy season has just begun in Zambia. We are asked to pray for sufficient rain in the coming months.

At St John’s, please pray for the Community Development and Social Justice group, working with people in need in Mtendere.
